On June 2nd, Penn Robotics Student David Li was responsible for making sure Ella’s chair was fully functional with the code from Mr. Binko. After configuring the IDE and updating the board firmware, he uploaded the code to the BlueFruit Feather, which allows Ella to control her chair with switches. Initially the code was dysfunctional; the controls for left and right were reversed and the chair couldn’t even move forward. He quickly diagnosed the problem (incorrect pinouts) and re uploaded the edited code to the board. The chair can now turn left, turn right, and drive forward. And Ella can drive the chair all on her own!
