Team 135 with Isaiah and his family

Just recently we got the pleasure to be introduced to a member of our community in need — Isaiah. Isaiah (bottom row, second from the left) is a strong-willed young man that is full of curiosity, creativity, and desire. While he and his family have been thriving on their own, we were contacted by his school physical education teacher when Isaiah was getting frustrated in the limited adaptations of the class’s “scooter game” he could do because of his Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC) (the development of multiple joint contractures). So naturally, he was set up with our parent team (Team 135 Penn Robotics) and an initial meeting was scheduled. This was a great chance for us to learn more about Isaiah and his needs and for them to learn more about us. We are pleased to say the meeting was an astounding success!

Not only are we going to work on developing a scooter for him with more back support, but we are going to look into ways to make his home life a little bit easier one project at a time. So, Mission to Engineer is looking forward to introducing you to our very own Innovations for Isaiah!

There will, of course, be much more information coming later on all of our upcoming projects. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
